Catherine Darlene Isenor, 35, Lantz NS

At the age of 35 on May 29, 1994, Catherine Isenor was shot and killed by her husband.

At the time of her death, Catherine’s children were fifteen, 8 and 6.

Relocating from Mill Village, Catherine was a resident of Lantz for several years prior to her murder.  She supported her family working as a cook’s assistant at the Inn on the Lake.

In her spare time, Catherine enjoyed knitting and was an avid bingo player.

Catherine and her husband had been having marital problems and on more than one occasion, Catherine told her co-workers that she and her husband did not share a happy relationship.  However, Catherine’s relatives were not aware of any marital problems.

On May 29th, at approximately 9:00 a.m., while their 8 and 6-year-old played in the front yard, Catherine’s husband called a friend saying he had shot Catherine and was going to kill himself.

When the RCMP entered the home, they found Catherine’s body lying on the floor while her husband was found shot inside the home. He died on the way to the hospital.
