Indigenous Women and Intimate Partner Violence

Throughout Canada, indigenous women report instances of experiencing physical and sexual violence as well as psychological abuse at rates three times higher than non-indigenous women.

The National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls uncovered root causes of staggering rates of violence against indigenous women, girls and 2SLGBTQQIA people. Consistent and persistent human and indigenous rights violations have resulted in widespread crises in indigenous communities.

If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, there is help available.
